How to use the WebP to JPG tool
- Choose the JPG quality.
- Drop your WebP files into the box.
- Download the JPG images one by one or as a ZIP.
What is WebP?
WebP is a modern image format that many websites use because it is smaller than JPG at similar quality. The downside is that some older photo editors, printing services, office programs and upload forms still refuse it.
Maximum compatibility
JPG works almost everywhere: Windows Photos, older versions of Photoshop, Word, print shops and nearly every website. Converting a WebP to JPG is the quickest way to make an image you saved from the internet usable in those places.
Animated and transparent WebP
Transparent areas are filled with white during conversion. Animated WebP files are converted using their first frame, since JPG holds a single still image.
Fast and private
The browser decodes the WebP and re-encodes it as JPG on your own device. Your images are never sent anywhere, and you can convert a whole batch at once.
Why images save as WebP
When you right-click and save a picture from many websites, you get a .webp file because the site serves WebP to save bandwidth. The picture is fine, but your photo viewer, Word document or print shop may not accept it. Converting takes a second and gives you a standard JPG.
Need transparency?
JPG cannot store transparent areas, so they turn white. If your WebP is a logo or sticker with a see-through background, use our WebP to PNG converter instead, which keeps the transparency intact.
Keep the originals
Keep your WebP files if you might need transparency later.
Converting on different devices
On Windows, WebP files may open in the browser instead of a photo app; drop them here and you get JPGs that open in Photos, Paint and Office. On a Mac, Preview can open WebP but some older apps cannot; converting avoids surprises when sharing. On Android and iPhone, open this page in your browser, tap the box and choose the files from downloads. The JPGs can then be saved to your gallery or shared directly.
Choosing a quality setting
A setting of 90 percent keeps practically all visible detail. If you are converting many WebP images for a website or email and want smaller files, 80 percent is a good balance. Avoid going below 70 percent for images with text or sharp edges.
Frequently asked questions

What about animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no limits or watermark.
Should I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?
JPG for photos and smaller files; PNG for logos, graphics and anything with transparency.
Can I convert WebP to JPG on iPhone?
Yes, open this page in Safari and select the files.
