Resize Signature for Online Forms (10-20 KB)

Resize signature images for online forms: this preset outputs a wide 300 x 100 pixel JPG under 20 KB, a good starting point you can change to the exact box your form gives.

Settings loaded: 300 x 100 px, under 20 KB, JPG. You can still change them after adding your image.

How to use this preset

  1. Sign in black ink on plain white paper and photograph it from straight above.
  2. Crop tightly around the signature with the crop tool.
  3. Add it here and, if your notice lists pixels (for example 140 x 60), type them in.
  4. Press Resize image and check the KB value before downloading.

Signature rules on major portals

Each exam board sets its own signature format, and they are not the same. Use the row that matches your application:

PortalSizeFile size
SSCAbout 6.0 x 2.0 cm10-20 KB, JPEG
IBPS (NABARD 2026 notice)140 x 60 px; black ink on white paper; no capital letters10-20 KB
UPSC upload instructionsThree signatures stacked in one image, 350-500 px20-100 KB
NEET-UG 2026 bulletinNot fixed in pixels10-100 KB

Limits taken from the official notices listed, checked in October 2026. Rules change between exam cycles, so always confirm the numbers in your own notice before uploading.

The 300 x 100 preset is our own default, not an official requirement. Sizes like 300 x 80 are mentioned online, but we could not find an exam that officially uses them, so always follow your notice.

Fixing blurry or grey signatures

Blur usually comes from a dim photo or a signature that was tiny in a large frame. Sign a little bigger with a gel or felt pen, shoot in daylight, crop close and then resize. Grey paper turns into a muddy background at 20 KB, while bright white paper compresses cleanly.

Taking a good signature photo

Use a black or dark blue pen on clean white paper, and sign a little larger than usual so strokes stay clear after resizing. Photograph it in daylight without shadows, holding the phone straight above the paper. A crisp, high-contrast photo compresses into a much cleaner small file than a dim, grey one.

Crop before you resize

Most rejections happen because the signature is tiny in the middle of a large white area. Open the crop tool first and cut the image down to the signature with a small margin. The signature then fills the frame, and at 300 x 100 pixels every stroke is visible.

Why the aspect ratio is unlocked

Signatures are wide and short, and forms often require an exact box. The preset unlocks the aspect ratio so the output is exactly the size the form expects. If your crop is roughly the same shape, there is no visible stretching. To avoid any distortion, crop the signature to a 3:1 shape first.

Frequently asked questions

My signature looks faint. What can I do?

Sign with a darker pen, photograph it in good light and crop tightly.

Can I make the background white?

Shoot on white paper in good light; the JPG keeps a white background.

How do I resize a signature for SSC?

Crop the signature, enter about 472 x 157 px (6 x 2 cm at 200 dpi) and keep the 20 KB target. SSC asks for a JPEG between 10 and 20 KB.

How do I resize a signature to 20 KB?

The target is already 20 KB. Add the cropped signature and press Resize image.

How do I resize a signature without it getting blurry?

Start from a sharp, well-lit photo, crop tightly and avoid enlarging a tiny image. Darker ink also survives compression better.
